Event Durham

This is a pre-university summer school for 16-17 year olds, where they will spend 10 days living and studying at Durham University, engaging with new ideas in a range of disciplines, exploring our historic city and connecting with students from around the world.

Applications are now open and the closing date is the 15^th May 2026.

The application form should be completed by the parent/carer/guardian on behalf of the student applicant.

To complete this application, you will need to upload the following documents:

• A short personal statement from the student about why they wish to join the programme, what they can offer during the programme and how they will benefit from the experience (approx. 300 words).
• Provide a short recommendation from a school counsellor or teacher summarising the student’s knowledge, attitudes and skills.

We welcome all students to apply for the programme and reasonable adjustments will be made where feasible.

You will be asked to provide any medical and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) information, if applicable. A detailed summary of these will allow us to consider appropriate support.
